About Rowland Brothers
Established in 1873, Rowland Brothers is a family-run firm of funeral directors that has been serving the needs of bereaved families in the Croydon and the surrounding areas for over 150 years.
During this time, we have earned an enviable reputation for excellence in the traditions of quality funeral direction, funeral services and reliability.
We are committed to delivering support and assistance. As the first funeral directors in the United Kingdom to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, we are also members of the National Association of Funeral Directors, the British Institute of Funeral Directors, the National Association of Memorial Masons, a founding member of the National Association for Pre-Paid Funeral Plans and the Funeral Planning Authority, members of the International Order of the Golden Rule, demonstrating our on-going support and commitment for delivering a professional and respectful funeral services to families nationwide.
We currently have three generations of the Rowland Family working in our daily services.
Tony Rowland
Chairman
Tony started with the company in 1959 and has helped approximately 30,000 families during his working life. Tony founded Rowland Brothers International in 1971 and Golden Leaves Funeral Plans in 1980; he still continues to work every day at the age of 78 years young. He is very well known in the community through his activities with Round Table, Rotary, Freemasonry, Croydon Scouts, The Brenda Kirby Cancer Centre and the Thornton Heath Festival.
Stephen Rowland
Managing Director
Steve started with the company in 1990 and manages the development of the full Rowland Brothers group. He started with Rowland Brothers working on the ‘shop floor’, and now oversees all crucial operations throughout the group in his current position. Steve ensures that each company is providing the best services available to their clientele.
Joe Rowland
Director
Joe is the 6th generation of Rowland. Joe started with us over 15 years ago and has since worked his way through every department, gaining knowledge of every part of the company up to director level. Joe now works closely with Steve on the development of the Rowland Brothers group, bringing in new initiatives and procedures to add a modern touch to a traditional sector. Joe also oversees the commercial side of the group, taking care of our supply company and online shop which caters extensively to much of the UK market.
The Rowland Brothers Foundation
Rowland Brothers have set up a charitable foundation to support people who are suffering from a bereavement and require counselling and financial support.
