Rowland Brothers Funeral Directors have taken the next step in their development program by the appointment of four new members to the board of the directors.

The new Board of directors will ensure we have a stable foundation for the next stage of our development in bringing first class funeral services to the communities we serve and creating an excellent work environment for those wishing to dedicate their lives to funeral service and the assistance of grieving families.

The new board members are Mark Spooner, Nicholas Redman and Shelley Hiller, bringing a wide range of expertise with previous experience ranging from business, finance and human resources.

Mark Spooner is a second-generation Funeral Director and served his apprenticeship with independent funeral directors from 1982. Prior to joining Rowland Brothers, Mark held management positions with Dignity, Funeralcare and Laurel Management across the Southwest/South East. His experience within Rowland Brothers includes four years as the Business development Manager for Rowland Brothers International and a year as General Manager at Rowland Brothers. Mark has been appointed Operations Director.

Nicholas Redman is an ACCA qualified accountant and joined the Rowland Brothers team in November 2018, after spending 13 years working in highly regarded accounting practices in London. Prior to his promotion to Finance Director, Nick was the finance manager for all areas of the Rowland Brothers Group. Nick also serves as a Trustee of the Rowland Brothers Foundation. Nick has been appointed Finance Director.

Shelley Hiller is a versatile and highly motivated Human Resources Director, with a wealth of international HR experience and employment legislation knowledge, and thirty years’ experience primarily in the professional services sector. An accomplished professional, Shelley is proficient in compliance with UK and international employment legislation, regulations and best practice in all aspects of staff management. She has been vital at Rowland Brothers as a trusted advisor to fellow directors and senior managers. Shelley has been appointed HR director.
